			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Multitouch in Windows 7 is like syrup on a hamburger.  The syrup is multitouch and the hamburger is Windows 7.  Windows 7 has a metaphor that isn&#8217;t suited for multitouch.  It&#8217;s an operating system that was built for the use of a keyboard and a mouse, not for fingers.  What we&#8217;re left with are a whole bunch of buttons that are hard to click, a whole bunch of windows that are hard to drag, and a whole bunch of applications that either don&#8217;t have touch support at all, or have different interactions from one app to another.  It&#8217;s a mess!  I&#8217;ll still eat my hamburger, just without the syrup.</p>

<p>85%!  That&#8217;s a shit ton of extra battery life!  You mean that for the first few months I had the kindle 2 I was getting battery-life raped?</p>
<p>This is a result of one of the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>They royally screwed up on battery management the first time around, which got Scotty fired and ended with this new firmware upgrade.</li>
<li>They&#8217;re over-exagerating the firmware upgrade to make people jolly for the holidays.  Marketing antics.</li>
<li>They turned off the internal hidden Camera.  They realized they didn&#8217;t get enough entertaining footage from avid book readers.</li>
</ul>
<p>Anyway, congrats to all those who discovered that their kindle now has 85% more stamina.</p>

<p>Anyway, even as I write this in the comfort of Snow Leopard, I&#8217;m a fan of Windows 7 and I recommend it to everybody running a windows machine.</p>
